This website has been created to support Christian Scientists in the use of the King James Bible together with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy — the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science.
Because the historical record clearly points to the fact that Mary Baker Eddy intended the King James Version of the Bible to be used in all English-language Christian Science church services — and because the current publishers of Christian Science Bible Lessons have departed from this intent, the King James text is being supplied here whenever other translations appear in the Golden Text and/or Responsive Reading of a Quarterly Lesson.
Substitution of words or phrases from other translations in the Golden Text and Responsive Reading may be brief and subtle at times, yet in some cases actually alter the spiritual meaning to a significant degree. Therefore, whenever any deviation from the King James appears, the entire Golden Text and Responsive Reading will be formatted in the text of the King James Bible in order to preserve a seamless King James rendering.

This site will be updated as necessary until the King James Bible is acknowledged by The Christian Science Publishing Society as the sole Scriptural voice permanently united with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures — and therefore the only Bible translation to be used in English-language Bible Lessons and services. The faithful prayers of Christian Scientists will help hasten this time.
In 2008, a Christian Scientist who is a scholar of the original Greek texts wrote an article that explains theological problems encountered when non-KJV Bible translations are used in English-language Christian Science church services. A careful analysis of the substituted verses in the May 18, 2008 Lesson is included as an example. Please click the link below to download the article.
